We are an Association of farmers based in the city of Puerto Maldonado - Peru, we have legal status under the current regulations in the country and our mission is to contribute to improving the quality of life of rural and urban population - with the concerted participation of public and private institutions and grassroots organizations in actions aimed at developing a diversified agriculture trying to imitate the Amazon forest. Our Association was born in 1992, in alliance with a sister association founded also the same year, called: AG-Ökologischer Landbau zum angewandten Regenwaldschutz e.V. (Working community for the practical conservation of the rainforest through ecological agriculture) based in Ludwigshafen / Germany and led by Father Arnold Willibald. Since 1992, we have concentrated our efforts, generating and accompanying processes oriented to self-management among farming families willing to make Agroecology a reality. The ECOCENTER: Location: The ECOCENTRO is located 3.2 km from Puerto Maldonado, on the left side of the road that connects the community of Rompeolas with the entire circuit of surrounding communities on the banks of the Madre de Dios River. It is a training and experience exchange center, founded in 2001, when it was acquired it was a pasture with palm trees for cattle ranching and already quite degraded, since then we started to restore it. Ecocentro arises to concentrate all our experiences in Agroforestry and also a place that articulates our network of farmers as well as the interested public. Over the years, Ecocentro has become a point of reference for those interested in ecological agriculture and it is in this place where the "Seed and Knowledge Exchange Fair" has been held for more than 20 years with the objective of rescuing natural seeds and repressing them year after year in order to take care of our food sovereignty. In the last 10 years we have been carrying out this meeting with allied organizations in the region.

On the other hand, for us it is fundamental to open our territorial experience to share and exchange experiences with farmers, students and interested public in general.
Context: The Association of Ecological Agriculture of Madre de Dios was created to promote sustainable systems of land use different from traditional and conventional agriculture, without destroying the environment and without depleting soil fertility, through experimentation, training and dissemination of techniques compatible with the Amazonian reality, since for years the state had been promoting conventional agriculture using chemical inputs that damage the environment, facing this problem is that we began to show alternative land use more appropriate to the Amazonian reality.
