Ori'Numba

A family business descended from the Harakbut Indigenous People, in Ori΄Numba, you will not only discover our history and traditions, but you will also become an active part of the conservation of our environment. Your visit helps us protect native species of flora and stingless bees that are in danger of extinction due to illegal activities affecting our region. It is an act that directly contributes to preservation through our work and our identity. Here, visitors enjoy an immersive experience in the heart of the cultural Amazon: -Welcome at the Maloca "Raíces Harakbut," where we share the living history of our people. -Walk through the Harakbut garden, where we grow native plants and food and remember traditional planting techniques. -Connection with medicinal plants, learning about their healing power, just as our grandparents taught us. -Observation of hummingbirds and native bees, silent guardians of the forest, essential for the balance of life. -Area of rescued orchids and heliconias, flowers that were once threatened by deforestation and are now blooming again thanks to our reforestation efforts. -Archery workshop, where we share the skill and wisdom of our hunter ancestors. -Tattooing with natural dyes, through the natural painting of Harakbut iconography, a symbol of identity and spiritual protection.

Why does experience contribute to Socio-Environmental Justice and Good Living?

Ori'Numba is a family experience run by the Harakbut people, who work to defend their territory, pass on ancestral knowledge, and conserve biodiversity through tourism with a local identity that connects culture, the forest, and ancestral memory. This living space is not only committed to the reforestation of native species, but is also home to melipona bees, orchids, heliconias, and medicinal and ancestral plants that were rescued from ecosystems affected by practices such as mining, deforestation, livestock farming, and forest fires. Through our work, we seek to reverse the processes of environmental degradation by intertwining the defense of the territory, the transmission of ancestral knowledge, and the restoration of spiritual links with ecosystems. Through culture, traditional agriculture, and environmental education, a space for protection, learning, and natural reproduction has been created that revalues ancestral knowledge and promotes the leadership of indigenous women and youth toward a sustainable and intercultural future.
